Shopping

I will never own a keychain, bumper sticker or T-shirt that says born to shop. I don't know how people shop all day, every weekend. I was out for about 6 1/2 hours and everything aches again!

Today's expedition started as apartment shopping and turned personal by the end. AND since I didn't bring my compact camera I saw about 12 fabulous shots that would have been perfect for the photoblog. Maybe it is just as well. It would have taken me even longer if I stopped each time to get the shot.

So let's see. I went to the Great Indoors first just to look around. I hadn't been there in ages, but I don't think I'm missing much. Then I hit up Bed Bath & Beyond. There were a lot of little things that I needed to get the apartment finished up. I spent a lot of time and money there. (That's where the Twinkie bake is. All I can say is... what?) After that it was IKEA. The last time I was there it was a weekday and I took my time looking at everything. This time it was Saturday, it was JAMMED, and I walked rather quickly to the specific things I needed. That's when it really start to hurt. So I decided to get something something to eat and headed to Fuzzy's.

After that it was supposed to be two quick stops. Running into Barnes & Noble to pick up some magazines (of course I bought a book.. I couldn't resist) and running into Dillard's to get a purse. I was so tired, but I figured Dillard's would have something decent and I could get out of there. Alas, no. I'm certainly no fashionista, so someone please tell me when purses got so ugly. They are either small and barrel shaped or HUGE and they look like they were turned over to a crazed bedazzler addict. I thought it was just the pseudo department store by me (which I tried yesterday), but it isn't. These garish purses are everywhere. Palais Royal, Dillard's, Foley's and expensive and in glass cases in Neiman Marcus. They might not be so bad if I saw them alone in the wild, but together in their herd, garish.

So since I had limped over to the Galleria I decided to get a cookie. But once I got there, I skipped the cookie and decided to limp on over to Foley's. On the way however I got sidetracked into Sephora. I finally made it to Foley's, found a purse that isn't horrible and began the long trek back.

Now to a shopper that may not sound like a lot, but to me it was exhausting. I'm doing nothing, NOTHING tomorrow. I'm putting up my feet and I'm going to be as lazy as possible.

It's the little things
