So I've been toying around with different ideas for one nice thing to get with my tax refund (after I've done all the important things like buying a new mattress....). I've been going back and forth trying out different ideas in my head. I've considered a purse, a Lensbaby, the 4th generation iPod (because it has firewire and thats what I need), and I've even looked at some compact cameras just for kicks.
Well I'm afraid the decision has been made for me. It looks like my compact camera has bit the dust. It won't turn on at all and I'm not sure getting it fixed would be worth the expense. I've had that camera since the summer of 2004 and it is what got me into this wonderful world of digital photography. I'm not sure I can really afford a new camera, but a compact camera that I can carry with me at all times is pretty important. I'm brand loyal so I'm really only looking at Canons although I guess if someone really nags me I could look at other options. I don't really want to wait until the end of January either. Thats a long time to go without a compact camera.
So the research (because I *must* research everything) must now kick into high gear.
UPDATE: I've been looking at this one for a while and now I'm really *really* leaning towards it. It doesn't hurt that it is selling for less than $200 at most of the big box stores.
