Hey... they're talking about me!

This article in Psychology Today about confidence, shyness and social anxiety could not have come along at a better time. It is perfect for me considering my recent experiences.

People who are very socially anxious tend to pay attention to their bodies and magnify that response, perceiving it subjectively to be much greater than it actually is........The extraordinary fact is that you can create a crisis of confidence by overreacting to your own normal heightened alertness. But if you can work yourself up simply by misinterpreting your body's signals, you can chill yourself out by reading them correctly.

Could that describe my recent experience or my not so recent experiences any more perfectly!
