This weekend is what I hope all my weekends will be like once I start back to work. Busy, busy, but lots of fun with cool people. Lazy on the weekday, party on the weekend .... that is going to be my approach this year. Well party as much as it is possible for someone as goody two shoes as I am.
Friday night was the Technology Bytes Anniversary party. As mentioned before, I was very nervous about it because, well, you know all the reasons. Elaine agreed to meet me for dinner, so that eased the tension knowing I wouldn't have to walk in by myself. I had my first shrimp taco which made me wonder what the hell I've been waiting so long for. Just as every other time I've been apprehensive, the party was a lot of fun and I had plenty of people to talk to. And I finally got to meet Dwight! As I said before, hanging out with people is addicting. Check out my photos, as well as those by Jay and groovehouse.
Saturday I woke up at 5 in the morning with music playing in my head, my mind a whirl. I finally went back to sleep at 7 am. When I finally did wake up I was dragging. I finally got my act together in time to make it out to Yale Street Market to help Elaine with the Fresh Photography booth. I was Christine for the evening since Christine is in Germany. It was a hot, hot HOT set up. When we got there it was raining, but it soon stopped to be replaced with STEAM. It took me about an hour and half after the event started before I finally cooled down. I got to see so many of our friends including James, Ed, Sylwia, Gerry, Karina, Imelda, Lisa and I finally got to meet Ed Schipul! It was a long, tiring evening and I was tired when I got home, but it was the good kind of tired. A long day that for the most part distracted me from other worries.
Didn't sleep as well Saturday night either, but thankfully I went back to sleep fairly quickly after I woke up. Elaine treated me to the Simpsons this afternoon for helping with the booth (thanks Elaine!). This evening I chose the favorites for Moody Monday. Check them out. I had to narrow down from over 100! Over all a packed weekend, the way I hope they will always be. One more week off, but I can honestly say that I'm ready to go back to work. This much downtime is not good for me.
