The amused and the stupid

Back in July when I went to the roller derby with several friends, I had a funny little experience. After the event I was walking back to my car and I ran into Phototainable. He and his wife had just seen a movie at the Angelika and we just happened to cross paths on our way down to the garage. I found this very amusing because Houston is the 4th largest city in the US and I don't generally think of it as a place that you can wander the streets and run into someone you know, especially downtown.

Well it has happened again. This evening I went on the GHPA walking tour of downtown Houston. After the tour Christine and I decided to go to Frank's for dinner. As we are walking toward the restaurant who do we see walking towards us? Eric! Apparently I will meet just about anybody while wandering the streets of downtown Houston. So strange.

In other extremely embarrasing news (*hitting forehead* stupid, stupid, stupid)... I don't know what the hell I was doing, but I was messing with my camera and I apparently hit the combination of buttons to delete everything off the CF card. Then my brain apparently froze up because it was almost half way done before I realized what was happening. I cancelled the process but not before I lost all my photos from my road trip to Brenham with Randy and from a stop I made today to the River Oaks Shopping Center to photograph the demolition. I'm so mad at myself. I found a recovery program that will recover all the photos, but it costs $80 and I just don't have that kind of money. Seems most of the programs with free options are PC only. I'm going to try some things tomorrow with my work laptop. None of the photos were life or death so I'm going to have to chalk this up to lesson learned. The lesson? Download photos immediately when I get home like I am right now. Sigh.

Good Morning
