I saw the Drowsy Chaperone tonight and have realized that I am "Man in Chair" from the show (except, you know, I'm a woman). "Man in Chair" is a mousy, lonely man who escapes from his trouble into his broadway records. That's me! This show was funny, fun and I found it very touching watching this man, my doppelganger.
Another great thing about this evening is that Georgia Engel was in the show! Some of you may remember her as Georgette from Mary Tyler Moore, but I'm more familiar with her as Pat MacDougall from Everybody Loves Raymond. She was so hysterical in that show (someone even made a clip video from the TV show). If I had a sharpie with me I definitely would have waited at the stage door and I usually never consider doing that. Not to sound all "Man in Chair" but there is nothing like a good broadway musical.
PS: The Hobby Center changed their carpet. That makes me a little sad because their old carpet had this geometric pattern that resembled the angles on the building. Now it is just boring blue.
PPS: I don't think I'm going to go on Fridays anymore. Fridays are more convenient for me, but the audience is flat compared to a Saturday night crowd.
