Website Updates and Anniversaries

Lots of website stuff going on so here's an update.  First I spent the morning cleaning up the links on the side bar.  I added new ones to the Blogs I Like and Photography Blogs I Like and took others away.  I also added a new list: Podcasts I Like.  I listen to podcasts every time I'm in the car.  I know, I'm the weird music teacher that doesn't listen to music very much.  I think any future prince charming (prince not frog) will have to love The Bugle as much as I do.  If you have any podcasts that you love to listen to let me know in the comments.

I also added a new design.  There are a few things that I don't like about it and you may run into a past post that doesn't look that great, but I'll get used to it and I think it looks so much more polished.  I think black text on white space is the easiest to read and the most professional so I'm glad to get back to it. Another note about the blog is that I enabled the icons for comments.  You will have a generic swirly Typepad icon when you leave a comment, but if you sign in with Facebook or Twitter it will pull your avatar and name from there.  I wish Typepad used the Gravatar service, but this is as close as I can get for now.

But wait, there's more.  A few weeks ago I created a new website.  It is an offering by and is an excellent solution for people like me that have lots of internet homes.  One of the things I didn't like about most aggregators is that it was either just a link list or it pulled in all the info, but in a very ugly design.  This service pulls in the information in an elegant way and you never have to leave the page. Just click on each link and it will pop up to the left.  I really love it.  I also like being able to have a contact form that people can use to easily reach me.  I'm just waiting for them to add Gowalla and then I will have all the services on there that I want to share.  I have even switched most of my profiles over to the new website address and I ordered new Moo cards with the new address.  I really feel like this is a great solution and I'm excited about it.

And finally I need to acknowledge some anniversaries.  February 28 (really the 29th) marked my blogging anniversary.  That is when I started my very first blog six years ago.  I can't believe it has been that long.  I have changed so much in terms of blogging over those six years.  I had lots of different blogs as I tried to find my voice and my way, but I finally settled down with Photine four years ago.  The photoblog went up on March 23rd and this blog went live on March 26th.  Six years of blogging and four years settled in Photine land.  I love blogging and look forward to seeing what the future holds.  Thanks to my small and loyal band of readers for sharing the adventure with me.
