Sick Day

I've been feeling run down even into last week but especially this weekend.  As you recall I blogged about being lazy and setting new bedtimes for myself.  Monday I woke up with a scratchy, sore throat.  Uh oh.  I thought it was from allergies, but as the week has progressed I have realized I am flat out sick.

It is very hard for me to take a day off from work.  I couldn't take Tuesday or Wednesday off because the accompanist was coming to rehearse before our concert next week and we had an afterschool rehearsal with our 6th graders on Wednesday.  I couldn't take today (Thursday) off because it was the last time I could rehearse with my two choirs that needed it most.  By this point of course I have probably Typhoid Maryed all the people around me at work, but it couldn't be helped.  But I am finally giving my body a break and taking Friday off to try to rest.

I have the Worldwide Photowalk on Saturday that I am leading so there is no missing that, but otherwise it looks like another weekend on the couch which sucks because the weather is actually going to be nice this weekend.  Bah.

It's funny the freedom a day off provides at least in terms of resting.  I came home early and went right to sleep.  I wouldn't have done that if I was working tomorrow because I would have been worried about messing up my sleep schedule.  Now it doesn't matter.  That tells me this was the right decision despite how hard it will be to miss work.  Here's hoping for a quick recovery.
