New Year Jar

I fell in love with this Christmas jar while surfing Pinterest and I made my own version this year (sorry I don't have a photo.  Remember, December was a blur).

I loved the way the jar looked, and I didn't want to give up the sparkly when I put the decorations away, so I got it in my head that I would have a year round holiday jar.  I found the jar at Home Goods for $10.  I love it.  I spent a whole day running around looking for twig balls in a certain size.  I ended up finding what I needed at At Home on my second, yes second, visit there in a single afternoon.  It was worth the search because the balls and jar will be used as a consistent base throughout the year.

For January I have silver and gold beads running through.  I got the beads at Party City and they came in a pack of four (gold, two silver and a black) for $3.  There were cheaper beads but these caught more light and had a little more heft to them.  I am sure they will be making more appearances throughout the year.  I got a package of wooden numbers from Hobby Lobby for $2 and some gold Folk Art metallic paint.

Voilà!  I am happy with it and looking forward to the upcoming months.
