Last weekend we celebrated Chris' birthday. On Friday we went to Seabrook Waffle Company with his brother and sister-in-law. That was my first time there and it was so good. Saturday was a quiet day for us, but I did make him a homemade cake. Sunday we went to Galveston.
Galveston is one of our happy places. We decided to enjoy the incredibly beautiful weather and walk around. We parked on the seawall and walked to the Pleasure Pier. Since we were pushing ourselves to walk, we parked a ways out from the pier and had a lovely walk in and back.
I had never been to the Pleasure Pier. I don't see myself going there a lot, especially with the $10 cost just to walk on, but it was perfect last weekend. It wasn't crowded, the weather was beautiful and it was something new and different. Neither of us were interested in the rides available, but I did make us go on the ferris wheel. The ferris wheel always seems like it should be an easy, non-scary ride, and it always ends up being a little bit nerve wracking. But we laughed the whole time and that is worth it.
