Moving sucks. I absolutely hate packing and unpacking isn't that great either. We have been in the house a month and a half and it is finally mostly done. We have a long project list but it is the kind of things that are probably on lots of homeowners lists (buy this, weed that, reorganize those). We finally organized the patio on Sunday and it finally feels like we can hang out and enjoy the the lake view.
I have had some moments of stir craziness. I have spent this summer vacation pretty much in this house or at the doctors office. I definitely have Facebook envy seeing people's vacation photos of cruises, camping, road trips and vacations to Europe or somewhere with beautiful blue water. I know that I am lucky to have this much time to settle in and where we have moved in is stupid beautiful, but still. I doesn't feel like a regular summer vacation.
As for living in a house? Awesome. It is so quiet. I've lived in apartments all of my adult life and I have been pretty lucky in my apartment choices for the most part. No party crazy places and decent neighbors. Even then I marvel at the differences. No sounds of cars driving in the apartment parking lot, no voices as people walk down the sidewalk, no sounds of the upstairs neighbor. I can park right next to my door and I have a patch of grass all my own. Houses are pretty awesome.
