The Great Light Bulb Purge of '18
I don't know if it is a photographer thing (I should say former photographer, but I always hope to pick up the camera again one day), an artist thing, a person who responds strongly to color thing, or a Laurie thing. But I absolutely could not stand the fact that in our house all the lightbulbs were different colors.
I don't mean red, or green or blue, but even worse. Different shades of white! I left it alone as long as I could, but it finally got to the point where I couldn't stand it anymore. So off to the light bulb store I went. Hahah... just kidding. Don't you know me? I did hours and hours of RESEARCH.
Despite my hours of research, there were still some missteps. Some companies version of 2700K warm white is a little different than other companies. I didn't want the blue light of the 5000K that the previous owners had all over the house, but I don't want bright yellow either. Chris thinks I've been a little obsessive about something that didn't matter, but.... IT MATTERS. The light! The color!
So today was the day of the final purge. I climbed up the ladder to get to the last two fixtures. I unscrewed the top. And...
WHAT. THE..... What is that?
I admit it is on me, for making assumptions. But really? Why???? I had already been thinking about this post by fellow Houstonian Saroy, about all the light fixtures in her house at the time. I thought I would only have to deal with the colors, which is bad enough. But no. The light bulb purge must be put on hold until I do..... more research.
