Day 1, 2, 3 and 4
I had great and majestic plans to write up my summer vacation. Each day I would sit at the computer and write a few sentences about that days or the previous days activities. I would regale you with the healthy food I was eating, the yoga I was doing, the communing with nature and the artistic side that I was nourishing. I was determined to use every minute of my 55 days off to enjoy and rejuvenate myself in ways I was not able to do last year.
Last year with buying and moving into a new house and the air conditioner being out basically the month of June and the boxes, and the contractors, and, and, and…. . Because my choir room was getting new carpet I had to pack up that room at the same time I was packing my house. Then I moved and we ran into all kinds of issues. It was boxes and unpacking and stress and then I went back to work to more boxes. Last month the months of May, June, July and August were NOT fun. I was determined to enjoy this year.
So let’s see.
Day 1, I slept (oops).
Day 2 We ran some errands and then came home to discover that…. .YOU GUESSED IT! The air conditioner was not working. Our AC guy came out late Saturday night. Crisis averted (or was it…. foreshadowing).
Day 3 started promising. I am going to sing in a chorus of HMS Pinafore this summer and we had our first rehearsal. It was so nice just to sing for myself. But when I got home…. duh duh duh…. AC not working as well.
So here we are Day 4. The AC guy left a little while ago and I think we have everything straightened out. In the meantime I’ve painted a color mixing chart (there are a few mistakes) and I’m starting on another watercolor ( my hobby of choice this summer). My days are already slipping by me, but hey… I finally got my blog post up. So that’s progress. Maybe this summer won’t be so bad.
